Seasoned Tail-Ends
Most private equity funds have a targeted life of ten to twelve
years. However, many funds continue to hold portfolio investments
after the twelve-year period. Given the relatively small number
of companies remaining in the partnership past the peak harvest
period (years four through seven), many investors and general
partners seek liquidity to avoid the inefficiency associated
with monitoring/reporting on these small, tail-end portfolios.
The General Partner will actively pursue these relatively mature and highly
underwriteable assets.
