Edgar J. Pfohl is Co-Founder and Principal of the Montauk TriGuard Funds. Mr. Pfohl is also General Partner and Founder of Montauk Advisors, LLC the investment advisor for Montauk Partners I and II, where he led the sourcing and negotiation efforts. In addition to his role with Montauk Advisors, he has served as an intermediary, advisor and principal on numerous transactions. Mr. Pfohl was the founder, manager and general partner of several entities formed to purchase secondary investments on an opportunistic basis. In 1987, he became one of the first intermediaries in the secondary market for private equity partnership interests. He established an exclusive database of over $800 million of partnership interests that was published in The Venture Capital Journal and The Private Equity Analyst. During this time, institutional investors engaged Mr. Pfohl to evaluate 128 private equity partnerships. Prior to 1987, he was President of the Rockies Fund, a public venture capital fund investing in emerging growth companies in the Rocky Mountain Region. Mr. Pfohl was also one of the founders of the Rockies Club and the "Venture Capital Investing in the Rockies" conference. Mr. Pfohl is a graduate of Capital University and he has completed postgraduate MBA studies at California State University at Fresno and the University of Denver.
