Montauk TriGuard Funds' objective is to purchase limited partnership interests in private equity funds through secondary transactions. The General Partner currently manages approximately $1.5 billion.
The growth and maturity of the private equity market has generated significant secondary market opportunities. The Partners believe that between 2% and 5% of all primary commitments will eventually be available on the secondary market.
The market for sales of existing limited partnership interests has grown significantly over the last decade, both in terms of transaction volume and aggregate dollars raised to invest in secondary transactions.
The management team consists of six professionals with over 100 years of combined secondary market experience. The Partners have significant experience in private debt, mezzanine and equity deals in specialty industries. Their broad secondary, niche and deal "underwriting" experience, combined with deep industry, relationships provides a unique advantage in sourcing, evaluating, valuing and completing niche secondary transactions.
